Atelier Versace SS2016

Feb 07, 16 Atelier Versace SS2016

How nice is, however, after men’s shows, where rule unisex and eccentricity, to return to the good old-fashioned femininity! Donatella Versace, opening the Parisian week of haute couture spring-summer 2016 for her Atelier Versace, traditionally released on the podium the entire royal armada of top models, led by a slightly rounded on the eve of her second maternity Lara Stone and the Ronaldo’s ex-fiancée habitué of the “Sports Illustrated” pages, Irina Shayk. Girls with ‘curves’ and names opposed to one-day teen models – this is the image that continues to cultivate the Italian for her muse.
Weightless, flowing, airy – the new Versace collection is impregnated with color and light. White rhymed with the eternal spring, is refreshed with lemon-orange accents that give a slight sports spin to the image (“mens sana in corpore sano” – is the credo of the designer). Turquoise transiting in royal blue and several mandatory black looks form a harmonious palette.
As always, multiple slits, cuts and bold transparency show the signature of the couturier. However, if earlier Donatella made emphasis on a femme fatale – an urban female warrier – since recently, all in keeping feminist background, Versace collection headed for relaxed sensual femininity without any violent overtones. And for the better, isn’t it?
