Stephane Rolland FW2015

Aug 04, 15 Stephane Rolland FW2015

Every year Stephane Rolland surprises guests and the press with a peculiar manner of presenting his collection. We attended to grand defiles, breathlessly watched the performance of violinists and dancers, admired a short film.

Presentation of the new fall-winter 2015-2016 collection in typical French apartments on the avenue George V gathered a surprising number of invitees. An interactive presentation of the entire collection was projected on the walls. Stefan was here, giving interviews just next to us. At his right hand posed his favorite model Nieves Alvarez and several samples from the collection were put on mannequins. Exhausted from the Parisian heat, I was almost ready to leave this action, considering that I had already sawn everything. But suddenly the show began. The models went straight to us and posed on small dais in each room.

Stefan remains true to his impeccable lines, flowing tissues, as well as the incredible architectural details. Floor length dresses and overalls (of crepe and gauze) are great, as always. Was there a place for “novelty”? Certainly yes: jackets, a skirt, a cape and gilded leather inserts on dresses. The colors of chosen fabrics retain their naturalness: white, black, light ocher, dark brown, sand. The bright green made an appearance, which is pretty good combined with the usual gold accessories. Golden belts and large necklaces sparkle in the glow of flashlights. Silver elements in graphical pictures on one dress and an overall added some sophisticated “glamor”. I especially liked a golden bustier in the form of a flame and a kind of “burning” collar of a white dress.

The presentation came to an end, and our rather big crowd applauded maestro. Stephane Rolland came to us, accompanied by several models, receiving congratulations. I applauded silently, mentally trying to build a future article, so as not to saturate it with excited epithets and emotions that overwhelmed me – because what he creates is incredibly beautiful.
