Jan 07, 13 First Chanel boutique in Saint-Petersbourg

The first and long-awaited CHANEL boutique in St. Petersburg opened its doors December 20, 2012 in the building of the “Nevsky 152″ gallery on Nevsky Prospekt (avenue).

St. Petersburg was a very special place in the biography and work of Mademoiselle Chanel. She had a very close relationships with the Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich Romanov. Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna Romanova headed the atelier, in which the embroidery for the “Russian” collections of Chanel was made. Ernest Beaux, a French perfumer of Russian origin, created for Coco Chanel her first perfume, Chanel № 5. The opening of the CHANEL boutique in St. Petersburg is a new page in the history of the legendary fashion house.

The project of the boutique, as well as other CHANEL boutiques around the world, belongs to the famous New York architect Peter Marino. The three elements that are characteristic for the House – luxury, elegance and modernity – are joined in it together.

Graphical facade of the boutique on the corner of Nevsky Prospekt and Telezhniy Pereulok immediately catches the eye. Its conciseness is committed to the principles of Mademoiselle Chanel, who said: “The beauty of things in their simplicity.” The large, two-level display windows give a sense of lightness. During the year, from season to season changing one another, the six pret-a-porter collections of the creative director of CHANEL Karl Lagerfeld will be displayed.
