Paco Rabanne PAP SS2013

Nov 12, 12 Paco Rabanne PAP SS2013

Paco Rabanne Spring-Summer 2013 collection, created by the new creative director of the House – Lydia Maurer – became a kind of tribute to a strong and confident woman. Her distinctive features are extravagance and “sex appeal”. Staying in neutral colors (blue, purple, black, gold and silver), the collection combines the rebellious spirit of the seventies with a no less rebellious new wave. Chainmail dresses, gladiator sandals, metal and plexi-glass accessories… The unprecedented combination of history and modernity, freedom and femininity, classics and rock’n’ roll.

Let’s recall that Lydia Maurer, before taking office of the creative director of the House Paco Rabanne, had worked in the studio of Manish Arora and before that – at Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy. When creating this collection, she felt a special responsibility: Paco Rabanne label ceased to participate in fashion weeks and produce collections since 2006. In February 2011 the “return” of the House was announced, and Manish Arora was appointed as the creative director. But this May his place was taken by a 29-years old stylist Lydia Maurer, of a German-Colombian origin, which “sensitivity to the artistic and experimental top and determination will continue the tradition of Paco Rabanne” – according to the brand’s management.

Today we can say that the stake won. With extravagant models Lydia managed to bring a fresh approach to the tradition of the famous House.
