Valentino SS2011

Feb 15, 11 Valentino SS2011

Valentino – it sounds so poetic. You immediately imagine rich red and exceptional white, two favorite colours of the Master. And the translucent collection, presented at the spring-summer couture fashion show in Paris by Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri also contained them – the red and white.

I would call this collection “immaculate”. Ruffles, layers of sheer chiffon, ribbons, pleats and waves hint at sexuality, but do not expose it completely. The image is young, translucent and somewhat naive. Miniature clutches and laced belts tied in bows perfectly complement the overall ensemble.

Chiffon dresses of different colours (white, ivory, flesh-coloured, red) and lengths easily and playfully show slender feminine silhouettes. I especially liked the pleated lower part and wavy neckline of one of the dresses for its movements along with the beautiful “nymph”.

“An immaculate nymph” I said to myself, watching the show and making notes in my notebook.
